The following staff from CAR and the discipline have carried out consultancies through the Centre:- Emeritus Professor Robert Tonkinson
Bob Tonkinson has worked with Indigenous communities in both the western desert and Melanesia (Vanuatu) since the 1960s and continues to maintain close contact with both research fields. He has written extensively on the Mardu Aborigines and the people of South East Ambrym, and was Consultant Anthropologist for the Martu Native Title Claim, successfully concluded in 2002. He has been periodically engaged in consultancy work in Aboriginal Australia for the last 40 years.
Katie Glaskin has conducted applied research in the areas of native title and cultural heritage since 1994. Subject to availability, she is able to work on native title, cultural heritage and related matters.
Richard Davis has extensive experience of working with Indigenous communities in different parts of Australia. In particular he has worked with Torres Strait Islanders in Torres Strait and with Aboriginal peoples in the Kimberley. Since 1992 he has conducted applied research in the areas of native title (both land and sea based), cultural heritage, social policy analysis, and land and resource management and is available to carry out research in all of these areas.
